Geowater IQ (Pty) Ltd was founded in May 2012 by Mr. Regan Rose. Regan is a professionally registered natural scientist with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP, Registration No. 400293/06). He has 29 years of experience in hydrogeology and related water and environmental studies and 14 years as business owner. He is skilled in Geo-Sciences, Water Resource Management, Analytical Science and Environmental Support. Further to this, he is a strong research professional with a Master of Science in Hydrogeology at the University of Pretoria and current PHD Candidate at the University of the Western Cape. Prior to starting his own business in 2012 Regan worked for Department of Water and Sanitation, as well as four other consulting companies. Major projects include the Department of Education’s Rural Schools Water Supply programme, the Western Cape Department of Local Government’s drought relief intervention programme, the City of Cape Town’s water quality interpretation at landfills project and the Department of Water and Sanitation’s Groundwater Reserve Studies in two major catchments to name a few. He has extensive experience in groundwater feasibility and implementation studies, groundwater impact assessments for environmental risk review as well as environmental compliance, Resource Directed Measures (RDM) (i.e. Groundwater Reserves), Water Use License Applications (WULAs), Geographical Information Systems (GIS), well field design, monitoring and management, geohydrological mapping and groundwater and surface water monitoring. Extensive experience has also been obtained in project management, compilation of contract documentation, tendering and tender evaluations. Apart from his numerous projects in South Africa, Regan also has working experience in Africa, Asia and Europe. His most recent project being the senior hydrogeologist responsible for drilling and pump testing 20 boreholes at Bisha Gold Mine in Eritrea.
